Models of Engler Viscometer

Labtron Engler Viscometer is specialized to measure viscosity of liquid at temperature upto 100℃. They consist of cylindrical measuring cup featuring graduated scale to hold sample during testing. Their construction is typically made from glass or high-quality plastic for durability and clarity. They include interchangeable bobs for testing consistency at different ranges of various fluids. Our Engler Viscometer assess flow resistance of oils and fuels, syrups and sauces in food industry and cream and lotion in cosmetics.

Engler Viscometer LEV-A10 FAQ's
  • Labtron’s Engler Viscometer LEV-A10 can be used to compare two oil samples by conducting individual tests under the same temperature and volume conditions. It delivers the Engler viscosity values that can be directly compared if the reference water time and setup remain constant. The unit does not support dual-sample testing at once, so each sample must be tested sequentially. To ensure reliable results, the viscometer should be thoroughly cleaned between tests. Recording flow times and Engler numbers for both samples ensures accurate comparison.

  • The Engler Viscometer LEV-A10 features a stable temperature control system, but it is not designed for unattended operation. Since hot surfaces and heated liquids are involved, there is a risk of spillage, overheating, or evaporation if the device is not monitored. Our viscometer should be supervised by the user, especially when initiating flow and stopping the timer. While its digital controller provides thermal automation, overall safety still relies on human presence. Fully unattended use would require a more advanced automated system.

  • Labtron Engler Viscometer LEV-A10 may experience flow issues if the orifice is blocked or the sample is not properly prepared. Begin by checking that the orifice is clean and unobstructed, as even slight residue can prevent fluid from passing through. Ensure the sample has been heated to the correct test temperature especially important for high-viscosity oils. Also, confirm that the 200 ml flask is correctly filled and properly positioned. If the issue persists, inspect the orifice for misalignment or wear that may be affecting flow.

  • Our Engler Viscometer LEV-A10 may give inconsistent results if cleaning is inadequate, temperature fluctuates, or sample volume is incorrect. Check that the orifice is free from any residue and the temperature is consistently maintained throughout the test. Ensure the sample volume is exactly 200 ml and the timing is started and stopped at the right points. Using standard reference oils with known viscosity values can help validate the viscometer’s results. Regular calibration and consistent test procedures are key to dependable performance.

  • Labtron’s Engler Viscometer LEV-A10 should only be cleaned once the device has cooled to avoid burn hazards. Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth and appropriate solvents compatible with petroleum products to clean the orifice and bath areas. Never use sharp tools or metal objects, as these can damage the instrument delicate parts. Carefully rinse the flask and any sample-contact surfaces after every use. Our viscometer will maintain performance and accuracy longer when cleaned gently and consistently after each test.
