Color Tester LCT-A20 FAQ's
  • The Labtron Color Tester is used to accurately measure and compare the color of various petroleum products such as lubricants, diesel, and kerosene. In petroleum analysis, color can indicate the quality or level of contamination in a sample. Labtron's device provides standardized and consistent lighting conditions using a high-quality incandescent bulb. This allows lab technicians to visually compare the sample color against a set of standard colors. The results help in ensuring product quality and compliance with industrial specifications.

  • Labtron Color Tester is designed with a built-in inside-frosted incandescent bulb that operates at a stable voltage of 220V and a color temperature of 2750 ± 50K. This type of light closely mimics natural lighting, making it ideal for color evaluation. It features a colorimetric disc with 25 standardized color glass fields and one blank field for reference. The sample is placed in a colorless glass tube and viewed through an eyepiece. The tester shows the sample color on one half and the standard color on the other, allowing direct and accurate comparison. This setup ensures reliable results every time.

  • Labtron Color Testers are specifically designed for testing a wide range of petroleum-based products. These include lubricants, kerosene, diesel, fuel oils, and similar fluids. Since color is often a key indicator of product composition, aging, or contamination, the color tester becomes an essential tool in quality control labs. By providing visual confirmation of color grade, the tester helps identify off-spec products early in the production or refining process.

  • The Labtron Color Tester includes several precisely engineered parts: a colorimetric disc with 26 light holes (25 with standard color glass and one blank), a colorless flat-bottom glass tube for holding the sample, a reliable light source, and an observation eyepiece made of concave and convex lenses. When a sample is inserted into the instrument and illuminated, the user can look through the eyepiece and see two halves—one showing the sample color and the other showing the standard reference color. This simple yet effective system makes the instrument easy to use and highly accurate.

  • Compared to manual color comparison using color charts or basic tubes, the Labtron Color Tester offers far greater precision and repeatability. It eliminates variables such as inconsistent lighting and human error. The controlled lighting source and standardized color reference disc make every comparison reliable. Also, the sturdy design and optical quality lenses ensure durability and long-term use. Laboratories prefer Labtron because it combines high accuracy, ease of operation, and dependable performance ideal for routine quality control work.
