Labtron’s Contact Angle Analyzers provide accurate and repeatable contact angle measurements for a broad measuring range. Most of our analyzers include a high-resolution camera paired with a telecentric zoom lens, which captures the droplet profile without distortion. An adjustable cold LED light source is commonly used to illuminate the sample clearly. They offer USB connectivity and advanced software for analyzing static, dynamic, and rolling contact angles. Our analyzers are built for reliability, versatility, and ease of use across a wide range of applications.

Our Automatic Tilting Contact Angle Analyzer is used to measure the contact angle between a liquid droplet and a solid surface. This helps in understanding how well a surface can be wetted by a liquid, which is crucial for evaluating surface energy and wettability. It features a motorized stage that tilts automatically, allowing the observation of how a droplet behaves when the surface is inclined, such as when it begins to move or slide.
Labtron’s Automatic Tilting Contact Angle Analyzer analyzer is commonly used in materials science, coatings, electronics, biomedical research, and surface treatment studies. Applications include measuring hydrophobicity or hydrophilicity, analyzing anti-fog or self-cleaning properties, evaluating surface cleanliness, testing adhesives, and ensuring quality control in manufacturing processes. It is also useful in developing smart materials and surfaces that repel or attract water.
The tilting function helps analyze how a liquid droplet behaves on an inclined surface. As the sample tilts, the droplet experiences gravity and may start to move or slide. Measuring the angle at which this happens helps in determining dynamic parameters like sliding angle and roll-off angle, which are useful in evaluating the self-cleaning or non-stick properties of a surface.
The tilting mechanism is motor-controlled and can be set to increase the angle at a defined rate. While the sample tilts, a high-resolution camera records the droplet behavior. The software analyzes the video and identifies the exact angle when the droplet starts moving, ensuring accurate and repeatable results.
Its key features include an automatic tilting stage, high-resolution camera, adjustable LED lighting, automated droplet dispensing, and software for contact angle calculation. The system can measure both static and dynamic contact angles, and supports time-lapse analysis, data export, and image or video recording.
