Labtron’s automatic refractometer LAF-A14 uses a high-resolution linear CCD detector that captures the critical-angle intensity gradient at the prism-sample interface. This precision detection ensures accurate refractive index (nD) or concentration (e.g., Brix) measurements—even with transparent, turbid, viscous, or dark samples—minimizing operator dependency.
