  • Labtron’s BOD Analyzer’s BOD is calculated by measuring the dissolved oxygen (DO) in the sample at the start and after 5 days. The difference in DO represents the oxygen consumed by biological activity. Samples are incubated at a constant temperature (typically 20?°C) in a dark environment to prevent photosynthesis, which could alter oxygen levels.

  • Labtron’s BOD Analyzer is an advanced solution designed for accurate and efficient measurement of Biochemical Oxygen Demand in water samples. With its precise measurement it is user-friendly and it can handle 1 to 8 samples at a time making it suitable for both small and medium scale testing. It uses differential pressure method and provides accurate measurement results comparable to those obtained using chemical dilution methods.

  • Labtron’s BOD analyzer measures the Biochemical Oxygen Demand of a water sample, which indicates the amount of oxygen required by microorganisms to break down organic matter in the water over a specific period, usually five days. BOD is a key indicator of organic pollution in water. High BOD values suggest a large amount of biodegradable material, which can deplete oxygen levels and harm aquatic life.

  • The sample to be tested is cultured in the BOD Analyzer at a constant temperature of 20 ± 1 ? for five days, the water sample in the bottle will undergo the biological oxidation reaction at a certain stirring speed. The organic matter is transformed into oxides of nitrogen, carbon and sulfur, and the carbon dioxide gas is absorbed by sodium hydroxide. The oxygen in the upper space of the culture bottle continuously supplies the oxygen demand of the microorganism in the water sample, and the pressure difference is generated in the culture bottle. By detecting the height of mercury in the glass tube, the BOD value of the water sample in the specified measurement period can be calculated.
