Our Single Beam UV-Vis spectrophotometer is equipped with two light sources, a deuterium lamp and a tungsten lamp, to effectively cover the entire wavelength range of 190 to 1100 nm. The deuterium lamp provides stable and continuous light in the ultraviolet (UV) region, typically from 190 to around 350 nm. The tungsten lamp, on the other hand, emits light in the visible to near-infrared range (approximately 350 to 1100 nm). The spectrophotometer uses both and automatically switches between them to ensure accurate and seamless measurements across the full spectrum.
Labtron’s Single Beam UV-Visible Spectrophotometer includes four 10 mm glass cuvettes, two 10 mm quartz (UV) cuvettes, PC software, and a power cord. Glass cuvettes are suitable for measurement in the visible range (400 to 700), typically used for colorimetric and general spectrophotometric analysis. The Quartz (UV) cuvette is designed for UV measurements (below 400 nm), as quartz is transparent to UV light, making it ideal for nucleic acid, protein, and other UV-based analyses.
