Kinematic Viscometer is used to measure flow times for a fixed volume of fuel to flow under gravity through a capillary of the viscometer across the fields of petroleum and its products industries, research and development department etc.
Labtron Kinematic Viscometer is specialized to measure dynamic viscosity to fluid density, providing insight into flow behavior under gravity. Their design includes calibrated capillary tube for accurate liquid movement measurement. They feature digital readouts for quick and clear visibility of viscosity results during testing. Their motorized system ensures smooth and uniform rotation for reliable viscosity results. Our Kinematic Viscometer is suitable for crude and refine oil, food and beverages and for pharmaceuticals.

The Kinematic Viscometer LKV-A10 requires a suitable capillary tube for filling it with the test fluid. The tube is then placed in the temperature-controlled bath, which is heated to the required test temperature. Once the fluid reaches thermal equilibrium, the time it takes for the sample to flow between two marks in the tube is measured using the built-in timer. The kinematic viscosity is calculated by multiplying this flow time with the calibration constant of the specific capillary tube. Ensuring stable temperature and precise timing is critical for reliable results.
Labtron Kinematic Viscometer LKV-A10 is best suited for testing clean, homogenous Newtonian fluids without solid particles. Samples containing waxes, particles, or certain additives may settle, interfere with flow, or clog the capillary tube. If such samples must be tested, they should first be preheated and filtered to remove suspended matter. Improper sample preparation can lead to inaccurate viscosity values or damage to the tube. Always clean the viscometer tube thoroughly after testing samples that may leave residues.
The Kinematic Viscometer LKV-A10 may heat up slowly if the ambient room temperature is not within the recommended range of 15–35°C. Check if the bath liquid is suitable for the required temperature, as some liquids do not conduct heat well. Inspect the heating element and stirrer motor to ensure they are functioning correctly, since poor circulation can lead to slow heating. If the issue continues, the temperature controller might need recalibration or the heating coil may be partially worn out. Avoid overfilling the bath, as this can reduce heating efficiency.
Our Kinematic Viscometer LKV-A10 may show inconsistent results if there are issues with tube cleanliness, sample temperature stability, or timing accuracy. Always ensure that the capillary tube is free of contamination or air bubbles and that the fluid is equilibrated to the set bath temperature before starting the test. Confirm that the timer is functioning properly and that the correct calibration constant is being used for the selected tube. If the readings still vary, try switching to another tube or run a calibration check using certified reference fluids. Maintaining a test log can help track recurring issues.
Labtron Kinematic Viscometer LKV-A10 should always be operated on a flat, vibration-free surface in a well-ventilated lab environment. Use only recommended bath fluids and ensure the fluid level never falls below the minimum required mark. Heated components and fragile glass tubes must be handled carefully to prevent burns or breakage. All electrical connections must be secure and grounded before turning on the unit. Keeping the area clear of flammable materials enhances safety during high-temperature operation.
