Vacuum Distillation Tester LDT-A18 FAQ's
  • Labtron’s Vacuum Distillation Tester LDT-A18 uses a rotating scraper or roller inside the evaporation tube to spread the sample into a thin, even film along the inner wall. This thin film increases the surface area for heat exchange, allowing faster and more efficient evaporation at lower temperatures. It also minimizes the residence time of the sample in the heated zone, reducing the risk of thermal degradation. The self-cleaning action of the film-forming system ensures consistent performance and prevents fouling or buildup during extended operation.

  • The Vacuum Distillation Tester LDT-A18 is primarily designed for batch operation, but it supports semi-continuous processes with optional accessories like a metering pump for controlled feed. This allows users to extend operating times and improve overall efficiency for larger volumes. The robust design, high vacuum performance, and efficient heat transfer make it capable of maintaining stable operation over long durations. It's particularly useful when scaling up small-batch distillations to pilot-level production.

  • Labtron Vacuum Distillation Tester LDT-A18 is designed to handle viscous and sticky materials efficiently due to its film-forming wiper or scraper mechanism. The rotating wiper ensures that even dense samples are spread evenly as a thin film, enabling uniform heat exposure and effective evaporation. The system prevents sample buildup or blockage, which can occur in conventional distillers when processing thick substances. It is especially useful for distilling oils, resins, or polymers that require high-temperature, low-pressure handling.

  • Our Vacuum Distillation Tester LDT-A18 may not reach the desired vacuum level if there are leaks in glass joints or seals, so these should be the first points of inspection. It’s also important to verify the vacuum pump’s condition and check whether the cold trap is full or blocked. In some cases, the sample may be releasing non-condensable gases that affect vacuum stability. Performing routine maintenance on O-rings, pump oil, and gaskets can prevent such issues. If the vacuum still doesn’t stabilize, isolating sections of the system and performing leak tests can help locate the fault.

  • Our Vacuum Distillation Tester LDT-A18 includes essential safety features such as over-temperature protection, vacuum safety interlocks, and thermal insulation around critical heating zones. The sealed all-glass construction helps prevent contamination or leakage, especially when dealing with volatile or hazardous chemicals. Additional options like explosion-proof configurations and PLC-based control systems provide enhanced operational security in demanding environments. These built-in protections ensure safe and reliable usage in both laboratory and industrial settings. The design prioritizes user safety without compromising on performance or flexibility.
