Labtron Paper Testing Instruments requires air supply for automatic clamping, ensuring smooth and secure operation. These provide real-time pressure curve displays, allowing users to monitor pressure changes instantly. Their over-range reset function protects the sensor by automatically adjusting it in case of excessive readings. They measure ink absorption values, useful for quality control in printing processes. Our paper testing instruments measure WH Hunter whiteness, YI yellowness, and CIE whiteness for precise color and whiteness evaluations for various applications.

The Labtron’s Ring Type Adhesion Tester evaluates the tackiness or initial stickiness of pressure-sensitive adhesives by measuring the force required to detach a metal ball or ring from the adhesive surface. It simulates the first contact behavior between the adhesive and substrate. This test is vital for products like tapes and labels, where quick bonding performance is critical. It provides a quantitative way to compare different adhesive formulations and batch consistency.
Ring Type Adhesion Tester is used primarily for pressure-sensitive adhesive materials such as adhesive tapes, labels, protective films, and sticker sheets. It works best on flat, flexible surfaces and is widely used in packaging, automotive, and electronics industries. The adhesive must have sufficient surface area to interact with the ring or ball. It is not suitable for structural adhesives or materials requiring prolonged curing or pressure for activation.
In the Labtron’s Ring Type Adhesion Tester, a metal ring is brought into contact with the adhesive under a fixed pressure and for a standardized time. Then, it is pulled away vertically, and the maximum force required to detach the ring is recorded as the initial adhesion value. The test conditions, including temperature, contact time, and rate of separation, must follow standard methods like JIS Z0237 to ensure consistent and comparable results across samples.
Several factors influence results: adhesive formulation, surface energy of the adhesive and substrate, application pressure, contact time, and testing environment (especially temperature and humidity). A smooth, clean test surface is essential. Even small contaminants or inconsistencies can cause variations. It's also important to regularly calibrate the tester and follow a strict testing protocol to reduce operator-induced variability and ensure reliable, repeatable readings.
Initial adhesion reflects how quickly an adhesive can bond to a surface upon contact, which is crucial in applications like labeling, taping, or protective films that must adhere instantly. Strong initial tack ensures easy application and reliable performance without requiring prolonged pressure. Measuring it helps R&D teams select or modify adhesives for specific uses and supports quality control by verifying batch-to-batch consistency in production environments.
